Loffler of Semnitz (Soenitz), 1862. * Three German Certificates relating to Bettelheim’s academic accomplishments. * Four Autograph Letters, in English and Hebrew: Pastoral matters including conversion and marital counseling. San Francisco and Baltimore. v.p.: v.d A student of the Yeshiva in Pressburg, Bettelheim later served as Rabbi in Bohemia, however due to his progressive political opinions he found it necessary to emigrate to America where he occupied several pulpits including Philadelphia, Baltimore, San Francisco and Richmond, Virginia. Bettelheim died on ship while traveling to Europe and was buried at sea. His son-in-law was Alexander Kohut.
