The author inveighs against the purchase of Ethrogim from Corfu for use during Sukoth for two reasons: The Corfiote citrons have been found to be hybridized with lemons, rendering them ritually unfit; coupled with the fact that the Corfiote population of late have subjected local Jewish residents to violence based on the trumped up charge of ritual murder. The author recommends Jews should purchase pure Ethrogim from the Land of Israel.
