(GERMANY). Rescript der Landesregierung an das Stadt Polizei Collegium zu Dresden, die Abstellung des frühzeitigen Begrabens verstorbener jüdischer Glausbensgenossen betreffend. Vom 7ten Feburar. 1829. (Part of: Gesetzsammlung für das Königreich Sachsen. [pt.] 6 [no.] 12. pp. 69 – 72). Edict.  Unbound, spine reinforced with paper strip. 8vo. Dresden, 1829.    BURIAL LAWS, DRESDEN, 1829.  King Anthony of Saxony (1755–1836) introduced legislation that burials could only take place a full 72 hours following death, to avoid the danger of entombing persons alive. Additionally, an official death certificate is required following examination by an appointed physician, and permitting Jewish morticians to conduct burials solely upon presentation of this certificate.  This regulation conflicted with the Jewish tradition that required the deceased is buried within 24 hours from time of death.
