(ANGLO-JUDAICA). “Wellington Road Synagogue Minute Book. 26th May, 1946 - 7th October 1952.” Manuscript Pinkas of the Shacklewell Lane Shul, London. Ledger of handwritten minutes of the meetings and affairs of West Hackney Synagogue, located on Wellington Road (Shacklewell Lane), prior to its later move to Amhurst Road, Stoke Newington, London N16.  The minutes initially appear in two differing hands, after which a third hand, with beautiful penmanship, takes over the final 2/3 of the volume. Final pages with an inventory of synagogue appurtenances.  c. 180 pages (excluding blanks), with related materials tipped in (typed letters, etc). Original boards, rebacked, stained. Folio. London, 1946-52.  The details provided in these synagogue minutes is extremely thorough, and therefore includes a variety of interesting historical material concerning the running of a North London Orthodox synagogue shortly after the end of the war. Broader matters also appear, such as supporting the Jews of newly formed State of Israel. In all matters, President A.
