VITAL, CHAIM. Derech Eitz Chaim. A large, impressive Hebrew manuscript written in an Oriental rabbinic hand on thick paper with wide margins. Edited by R. Meir Poppers. 25 She’arim. The Sofer records date and location on f. 4v. ff. 137 (incomplete at end). Some worming, some ink oxidization. Modern boards. Folio. Jerusalem, 1772. The manuscript was written in Jerusalem in 1772, within the active lifetime of Sar Shalom Sharabi, Rosh Yeshiva of Bet El, Jerusalem. It is notable as it contains notes by many leading Kabbalists, some of which have never been published. Provenance: Formerly in the collection of Shaindle & Yehuda Elberg, Montreal.
