(EARTHQUAKE). Shir shel Ra’ash. Manuscript in Hebrew written in a square Italian hand on paper. pp. 6. Later boards. 4to. (Italy) c. 1800. Unpublished poetic prayer-poem thanking God for salvation from an earthquake in Italy.  While it cannot be determined precisely which year this dates, it appears to be from the dawn of the 19th century at which time at least a half dozen earthquakes afflicted cities in Lombardy, Piedmont and Calabria. Loss of human life was minimal and therefore the attitude expressed in the manuscript here is that of gratitude and relief.
