Finely illuminated title-page and followed by many illuminated memorial pages. Contains 19 clauses of regulations on 4 pages, followed by an index of almost 500 names, many of whom add their autograph signatures alongside. pp. 200+ (excluding blanks). Original boards. Folio. New York City, 1920’s-50’s. The Chevra was part of Congregation Agudath Chaverim Anshei Marmarosh located in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, at 65 Columbia Street (now demolished).  The Congregation was founded in 1901 and among its significant rabbinic leaders was Rabbi Alter Shaul Pfeffer (d. 1936), see https://kevarim.com/rabbi-alter-shaul-pfeffer/ He was followed by Rabbi Joseph Popowitz, vice-president of The United Hungarian Jews of America, and then, most significantly, R. Shmuel Ehrenfeld (The Mattersdorfer Rav), founder of Yeshivas Ch'san Sofer in New York City and the neighborhood of Kiryat Mattersdorf in Jerusalem.
