Avraham Broda, R. Nathaniel Weil (1687-1769) served as a Rosh Yeshiva in Prague until the 1744 edict of Maria Theresa expelling all the Jews from the historical region of Bohemia. He was then was offered the prestigious rabbinical post in the German city of Karlsruhe where he served for some twenty years.
