NOSTRADAMUS. Ein Mishpat. Translated from Latin into Hebrew by Moses ben Leon Botarel. FIRST EDITION.   Two leaves (four pages) only (of 28). Wormed. Loose. 8vo. Vinograd, Constantinople 219. Constantinople, c. 1561.  Two leaves from the exceptionally rare Hebrew translation of the prophecies by Nostradamus. According to Yaari, the most complete copy extant is that located in the Bodleian Library, Oxford). These two leaves are not found in that copy.  Michel de Nostredame (1503-66, usually Latinised as Nostradamus) was a French Catholic astrologer, apothecary, physician and reputed seer, who is best known for his book Les Prophéties (1555), a collection of 942 poetic quatrains allegedly predicting future events.  The Hebrew translation here is of a most idiosyncratic nature, heavily leaning on French influence.  See Y.
