Arthur Sebag Montefiore (1853-95), paternal great nephew of Sir Moses Montefiore, who received this book as a gift from his great uncle David Cohen Macnin.
Family Cohen ben Maknin originally stemmed from Mogador. In 1809 they were appointed "merchants of the Sultan, ” arriving in London as Minister Plenipotentiary in order to acquire military equipment for the defense of Moroccan ports.
