Born in Thessaloniki, Greece, Moses ben Baruch Almosnino (c. 1515-80) was a prolific rabbinic scholar whose many works demonstrate extensive knowledge of science, philosophy, history, and rhetoric.

His Halachic responsa appear in the collections of contemporaries such as Samuel de Medina (MaHaRaSHDa’M), and Jacob di Boton.
