GIFTER, MORDECHAI (Rosh Yeshiva Telz, Cleveland, 1915-2001). Autograph Letter Signed written in Hebrew on letterhead to Rabbi Chaim Sarna. A letter of recommendation on behalf of a yeshiva student. In the Telzer tradition he extended his sphere of activities to include intense communal responsibility, serving, among other duties, on the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of Agudath Israel of America. R. Chaim Sarna (1929-2011) was the Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivat Chevron in its Givat Mordechai and Geulah branches. His father was R. Yechezkel Sarna (1890-1969) who had founded the yeshiva in 1925 at the request of the Alter of Slabodka. After the 1929 Arab Massacre in Hebron, R. Sarna moved the yeshiva to Jerusalem.
