FEINSTEIN, MOSHE (Pre-eminent American Posek and President of the Agudath HaRabbanim, 1895-1985). Autograph Letter Signed, written in Hebrew on letterhead. R. Moshe here disclaims he would never have uttered that which was attributed to him (a certain unspecified subject) when he was healthy - let alone now, when he is weak. One page. New York, 13th Iyar, 1980. R. Moshe was Rabbi of Lyuban in Belarus, before immigrating to the United States in 1937, where he became the Rosh Yeshiva of Mesivta Tiferes Jerusalem in the Lower East Side of New York. In time, he rose to become broadly respected as the foremost Posek in North America. His multi-volume responsa Iggeroth Moshe are essentials of the modern rabbinic canon.
