SCHNEERSON, CHAYA-MUSHKA  -  THE LUBAVITCHER REBBETZIN / Daughter of R. Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn and wife of the seventh Grand Rabbi of Lubavitch, R. Menachem Mendel Schneerson, 1901-88). * AND: SCHNEERSOHN (HORENSTEIN), SHEINA / SONJA (Youngest daughter of R. Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn, the sixth Grand Rabbi of Lubavitch, 1904-42). Joint autographed letters signed, written in Russian, to Nacha Rivkin. Three pages (written by Moussia) ATTACHED WITH one page (written by Sheina). Riga, 6th May, 1928. The recipient, Nacha Heber Rivkin (1900-88), met the Schneerson family in Rostov in 1915 and subsequently became a lifelong friend. In 1920, Nacha married the prominent Chabad Chassid Rabbi Moshe Ber Rivkin, who was sent to Eretz Israel to direct the yeshiva Torath Emeth (and later, Torah Voda'ath, New York). The two Schneerson sisters write here to their friend with news of the visit of Rabbi Rivkin to Riga. Each sister writes engagingly, inquiring in detail of Nacha’s welfare. About themselves they write thoughtfully: SHEINA: “During all these years we have been through so much… Both you and we suffered until our lives got back on track.” MOUSSIA: “You ask how we are? Well, what can I say? Each of us became somewhat older and each has one’s own challenges. It has been like this for ages dear. There are few people who are content with their life.”
