(HOLOCAUST). LUDWIG WODAK. Group of six watercolors, comprising: Portrait and five village scenes. Each dated between 1942 and 1943, each signed by the artist. WITH: Two pen-and-ink drawings. One featuring seated older gentleman with a Jewish yellow star pinned to his jacket; the other, a street scene. Both signed by Ludwig Wodak and dated 1942 and 1943. From 12 x 17 inches (30.5 x 43 cm), to 9 x 11 inches (23 x 28 cm). (Theresienstadt), 1942-43      PROVENANCE:  Previously in the collection of the late Rabbi Emil Davidovic of Prague. Ludvik] Wodak (1902-42) was deported from Brno to the ghetto of Theresienstadt on April 8, 1942 and subsequently deported from Theresienstadt to Auschwitz-Birkenau on October 16, 1944 where he was murdered thereafter.          These eight artworks were all executed during Wodak's internment in the Theresienstadt ghetto.     With gratitude to Dr. Michaela Sidenberg, Curator in Chief of the Jewish Museum of Prague, for her invaluable research assistance.
