Moises Ville, El Relampago, 1929.     Not recorded in WorldCat, nor in the holdings of the Museo Histórico Comunal y de la Colonización Judía Rabino Aarón Halevi Goldman, Moisés Ville.     German-Jewish financier and philanthropist Baron Maurice de Hirsch (1831-96) made it his life’s work to improve the lot of oppressed East European Jewry. He was the founder of the Jewish Colonization Association, best known for efforts to resettle impoverished Russian Jews in new farming colonies in Argentina, the flagship settlement of which was Moisés Ville in the San Cristóbal Department, 400 miles north of Buenos Aires.     Moisés Ville (Yiddish: מאָזעסוויל) is a small town (comuna) in the province of Santa Fe, Argentina, founded on 23 October 1889 by Eastern European and Russian Jews escaping pogroms and persecution. The name honored Baron Maurice (Moshe) de Hirsch the founder of the Jewish Colonization Association, best known for efforts to establish farming colonies in Argentina. The town is located in the San Cristóbal Department some 400 miles north of Buenos Aires.
