MELDOLA, RAPHAEL BEN MOSES. Personal rabbinic signet ring. Burnished gold with central agate stone engraved in Hebrew: “Raphael, the son of my honorable father Moshe, Meldola, a pure Sephardi.” England / Italy ? c. 1800.      PROVENANCE:  Rabbi Meldola’s descendant, the late Rabbi Dr. David de Sola Pool; and then by further descent within the family.     Raphael Meldola (1754-1828), served as a rabbi in his native Livorno before being invited in 1804 to become Haham of the Spanish and Portuguese Jews of England where he remained until his death.
