CARTE-DE-VISITE PHOTOGRAPH of First Lieutenant Friedrich Jacobi. Inscribed in period brown Ink “1 Lt. Fr. Jacobi / 7 Rgt. N. Y. V. Steubenville/ + Fredericksburg 13/12 62.” Photographer: Julius Brill, New York. Friedrich Jacobi (1819-62) of Company K & C, 7th New York Infantry, entered service on June 16, 1861. He was wounded and captured at Malvern Hill, subsequently exchanged and returned to duty. In December, 1862 he was killed in action at the Battle of Fredericksburg.
