Previous owner of photograph was unsure of identification and wrote two names on the verso. Photographer: Currier, Amesbury, Mass. Two cent blue revenue stamp above photographer imprint on verso. Initially served in the 17th Massachusetts Infantry. Later served as Colonel in command of the Second Massachusetts Heavy Artillery. Promoted to Brevet Brigadier General. See Adam D.
