HEAVY POLISH SILVER CHANUKAH LAMP. Large backplate centered with removable lion-shaped servant light; applied coronet with rampant lions and single deer; flanked by prominent architectural columns with flowered urns atop. Front row of eight individual open-mouthed beasts, extended tongues serve as wick-holders, EACH WITH MINIATURE REMOVABLE CROWN  as oil-stopper. The whole set on four paw supports, and suspension ring atop. With Hebrew year engraved at foot of columns: “1821.” Marked. 10.5 x 12 inches (26.5 x 30.5 cm). c. 1800 A POLISH LAMP OF MARKED PRESTIGE. PROVENANCE:   A prominent New York family, comprising four generations of collectors.
