HAGER, MORDECHAI (Grand Rebbe of Vishnitz-Monsey, 1922-2018). PERSONAL six-pointed raised black velvet Yarmulke. Note attached: “Gift… Erev Shavua’os, 2007.” Diam: 9.5 inches (25 cm) .     Rabbi Mordechai Hager (Reb Mottele) was appointed Vizhnitzer Rebbe following the death of his father, R. Chaim Meir Hager of Bnei Brak. Father to 14 children, he was a central and inspirational leader to tens of thousands of his Chassidic followers.          PROVENANCE: The late Dr. David Mehler,  who had personal relations with the Vishnitzer Rebbe. He received this Yarmulke as a gift, as a way to express thanks for services rendered.
