SCHNEERSON, MOUSSIA (CHAYA-MUSHKA) (Wife of the seventh Grand Rabbi of Lubavitch, R. Menachem Mendel Schneerson. 1901-88). Autograph Letter Signed to Nacha Feigel Rivkin (nee Heber) of Jerusalem (formerly of Rostov, later of New York and wife of Rabbi Moshe Dov-Ber Rivkin of Yeshivath Torath Emeth in Jerusalem and later, Torah Voda’ath of New York). Written entirely in Russian, comments on her upcoming marriage to the future Lubavitcher Rebbe: “I AM A FIANCEE… THIS WINTER I SHALL BE GETTING MARRIED. I SHALL BE MARRYING MY DISTANT FAMILY MEMBER AND NAMESAKE… THIS IS A VERY LONG STORY WHICH HAS LASTED FOR SEVERAL YEARS.” Postcard-size, densely written on both sides. English translation accompanies the lot. Riga, (Latvia), 21st September, 1928.     The second of the three daughters of the Friediker Rebbe, R. Yosef Yitzchak Schneerson (1880-1950), and wife to R. Menachem Mendel Schneerson (1902-94), who succeeded his father-in-law’s title as Lubavitcher Rebbe in 1951.     Rebbetzin Chaya Moushka writes here to her life-long friend, Necha (Nacha) Rivkin (1900-88), emphasizes how close she feels to her and her family. Comments about receiving a photograph of Nacha and how all three Schneerson girls enthusiastically reacted upon seeing it.     Rebbetzin Chaya Moushka arrived in Riga, Latvia, with her family, after her father, the Friediker Rebbe, was banished from Russia in the Fall of 1927. On the 14th of Kislev, 1928, she celebrated her marriage in Warsaw to R. Menachem Mendel Schneerson, her distant cousin, both descendants of the Tzemach Tzedek, the third Rebbe of Chabad Lubavitch.
