Shimshon ben Pesach of Ostropol. R. Shimshon Ostropoler, was martyred at Polonnoye, Volhynia, during the Khmelnytsky Uprising. Many anonymous Kabbalistic teachings are attributed to him, in no small part due to his exceptional knowledge and piety.
