THE FIRST ENGLISH TRANSLATION OF THE PASSOVER HAGADAH.      By 1770 the process of linguistic acculturation among Anglo-Jewry gave rise to this first issue of an English translation to the Hagadah. Indeed two versions were issued: One according to Sephardic usage and the present edition, intended for Aschkenazic Jews.      The rarity of this Hagadah is attested by the fact that Yudlov did not see a copy directly. He states that he only saw the title page of the Harvard copy that was reproduced in Yerushalmi. For the pagination, he relied on Duker and Yaari.       An exceptionally rare edition. No copy in the NLI.
