(BIBLIOGRAPHY). ROSSI, GIOVANNI BERNARDO DE. De Typographia Hebraeo-Ferrariensi commentarius historicus quo ferrarienses Judaeorum editiones hebraicae, hispanicae, lusitanae recensentur et illustrantur. FIRST EDITION. pp. xvi, 112. Ex-library (Jźd. Gemeinde, Berlin). Modern boards. 8vo. Shunami 2924 Parma: [Giovanni Battista Bodoni] 1780 A pioneering bibliographical study of Ferrarese Hebrew imprints, from the time of the Soncinos to the end of the sixteenth century. De Rossi, Professor of Oriental languages at the University of Parma, was a leading figure in Hebraic studies, and Bodoni produced most of his major works. This work precedes his two great bibliographic disquisitions, the Annales Hebaeo-Typographici of 1795-99, and is among the earliest serious considerations of the bibliography of early Hebrew printed books.
