HAGER, MORDECHAI (Grand Rebbe of Vishnitz-Monsey, 1922-2018). Large PERSONAL 26-string Gartel. Note attached by owner: “Gifted… 6/2011.” Length: 180 inches (457 cm). R. Mordechai Hager was appointed Vizhnitzer Rebbe following the death of his father, R. Chaim Meir Hager. Father to 14 children, he was a central and inspirational leader to tens of thousands of his Chassidic followers. PROVENANCE : The late Dr. David Mehler, who received this Gartel as a gift, as a way to express thanks for services rendered.
