While Rabbis Yechezkel Landau and Yonoson Eybeschuetz require no biographical introduction, the other contributors left similarly impressive marks on Bohemian Jewry:

R. Meir Fishels (1713-69), also known as Mahara”m Bumsla after his hometown, was the Rosh Yeshiva and Av Beth Din of Prague, serving on the same court as R. Yechezkel Landau, the Noda B’Yehuda. Among his students were Rabbis Eleazar Fleckeles (Teshuva Me’Ahavah) and Ya’akov Ginzberg (Zera Ya’akov). The eulogy for him delivered by R. Landau was reportedly dictated to him in a dream, just before his passing. MAHARA”M BUMSLA’S PUBLISHED MATERIAL HAS BEEN DRAWN FROM NOTEBOOKS IDENTICAL TO THE PRESENT LOT. See: https://hebrewbooks.org/pdfpager.aspx? req=8697&st=&pgnum=3

R. Zerach Eidlitz (1720-80) was a favored student of R. Jonathan Eybschitz and served as a court judge and popular preacher in Prague. His sermons and teachings have been published as Ohr LeYesharim (Prague, 1785).

R. Matithyahu Neugroschel served as rabbi of Prostitz (Prostějov) and Resnitz (Rousínov). His ethical treatise Be’er Sheva (Prague, 1814) was published posthumously with approbations from Rabbis Yechezkel Landau and Eleazar Fleckeles.
