Matted. 8vo. 12th April 1864 James Levy, a soldier in the Tennessee Infantry during the Civil War, requests transportation of various items, including a saddle, bridle, desk, books, and clothing to Washington. Capt. Edwards signs his approval. On the reverse is the printed heading of the Office of the Provost Marshal General at the Head-Quarters, Army of the Potomac. This section is signed by Captain William W. Beckwith, aide to the Provost Marshal General Marsena R. Patrick.
