TWERSKY, MESHULAM ZUSHYE (Grand Rebbe of Chernobyl, 1917-88). Autograph Letter Signed written in Hebrew on stamped letterhead to Rabbi Moshe Kamelhar. One page. Punch-holes. 8vo. Jerusalem: 25th Ellul 1949 A scion of an illustrious lineage of prominent Tzadikim, R. Meshulam Zushye was the Admor of Loyev-Chernobyl. His father was R. Chaim Yitzchak Twersky (1886-1943) and his maternal great grandfather was the Divrei Chaim of Sanz (via his youngest son R. Yitzchak Yeshaya Halberstam of Chechiav). R. Meshulam Zushye was the first Rebbe of the Chernobyl Chasidic dynasty to relocate to Eretz Israel following the Holocaust. His sons are the current Rebbes of Chernobyl and his prominent son-in-law is R. Yisroel Hager, current Grand Rebbe of Vizhnitz-Bnei Braq. Son of the rabbinic historian R. Yekusiel Aryeh Kamelhar (1868-1937), R. Moshe Kamelhar (1896-1979) was director of the Relief Committee for Refugee Rabbis in Palestine (Mifal Le’Ezrat Rabbanim Pleitim).
