(AMERICAN-JUDAICA). Moses Michael Hays. Autograph Letter Signed, written to Michael Gratz. Hays announcers the dispatch of a vessel to Georgia and promises to shortly remit bills of credit; he also complains here to his business associate Gratz about the postal service. One page, with address on verso, also bearing a straight line New York postmark and bishop’s mark. 4to. New York: 12th December 1768 “I would have wrote p[er] the Last Post But the Devilish Post coming so very Irregular that we have not an an opp[ortunity] of writing one a week.” Whatever the state of the post in 1768, business continues, and Hays fills Gratz in here concerning commercial interests in Georgia and Newport.
