WEINBERGER, HILLEL (Szerdahely Rov, 1895-1944). Autograph Postcard Signed, stamped and written in Hebrew to R. Menachem Mendel Kasher of Jerusalem. States that he has seen R. Kasher’s work “Torah Sheleimah” at the home of the Rov of Munkatch and requests that further volumes been sent him upon publication. One page. Autograph address on verso. Dunajská Streda (Dunaszerdahely / Niedermarkt), Slovakia: 1st November 1932 Succeeded his father R. Shmuel Levi Weinberger (1860-1925) as Av Beth Din, who was the son-in-law of R. Hillel Lichtenstein of Kolomyia (1814-91). It was here, in Dunaszerdahely, that the great Posek R. Yehuda Aszod presided. The town changed sovereignty from Hungary to Czechoslovakia after WWI. It is of note that R. Kasher’s works would be admired in Munkatch, a bastion of ultra-Orthodox thinking.
