HALBERSTAM, YITZCHAK YESHAYA (Of Tchechoyv (Czchów), 1864-1943). Postcard Signed, written in Hebrew on letterhead to R. Shimon Aharon Deutsch of Szepesváralja, Hungary (now Slovakia). Written from the Rebbe’s Court, with last line and a half written by the Rebbe. One page. Lightly stained. Cracow: n.d Known as R. Yeshayale Chechoyver, he was the youngest son of R. Chaim Halberstam, the Divrei Chaim of Sanz. He learnt from his older brother R. Yechezkel Shraga of Shinova and after marriage studied with the grandfather of his wife, R. Yehoshua of Belz. Spending time in Satmar, he later settled in Krakow to where thousands of chassidim came seeking his blessing. He was murdered by German Nazis wrapped in his Talis.
