HALBERSTAM, SIMCHA YISSOCHER BER (Cheshanover Rebbe, 1870-1914). Autograph Letter Signed, written in Hebrew on letterhead. Letter of support for the representative of the charity Kupath Ramban of Tzfas. One page, lightly stained. 8vo. Tseshenov, (Cieszanów, Poland): 8th Ellul 1907 Known as the ”Divrei Simcha, ” he was the son of the Shinever Rov - R. Yechezkel Shraga Halberstam and Chana Rachel Halberstam (the Shineva’s fourth wife). He was the son-in-law of R. Chaim Tzvi Teitelbaum of Sighet (the Atzei Chaim). He was succeeded as Rebbe by his son, R. Yechezkel Shraga Halberstam (1900-42) who was murdered by German Nazis and their Ukrainian collaborators and was the last Admor of Cheshinov.
