RS Japan Porcelain Lusterware Tea & Snack Set - This set of Japanese lusterware porcelain features a warm apricot or peach-toned iridescent glaze on the exterior of the vessels and snack plates. The interiors of the cups and creamer are finished with a white pearlescent luster glaze. The base of the pieces bears a red-orange printed backstamp consisting of a rising sun device with radiating lines above the letters RS, with the words MADE IN JAPAN printed below. The set comprises multiple teacups, saucers, snack plates, a lidded sugar bowl, and a creamer. Plate Diameter: 7 1/4 inches Cup Rim Diameter: 3 1/2 inches Cup Height: 2 inches Stacked Saucer Height: 2 3/4 inches The set is in good vintage condition overall. Rubbing and loss to the gold-toned luster is visible on the rims of the plates and saucers. Fine surface scratches and shelf wear are present on the centers of the snack plates. Minor inherent glaze pinholes and kiln dust are visible throughout, consistent with production. One cup has a prominent dark crack or heavy crazing line running through the bamboo decoration near the rim.
