Chinese Painted Paper Fan Leaf - This Chinese fan painting, mounted and framed for display, features a classic ”Birds and Flowers” composition executed in ink and wash with light color on a gold-flecked paper ground. An accompanying handwritten note attributes the work to the artist Wang Li and identifies the date as the summer of the 17th year of the Jiaqing reign, corresponding to 1812. The fan leaf is mounted on a green textile mat within a gilded metal frame. Frame: 14.5 x 26.5 inches Fan Width: 20 inches. The fan leaf is in fair antique condition, showing age-appropriate wear including several vertical creases and splits from its original use as a folding fan. The mat and frame show light surface wear but are otherwise intact. An additional wax seal is present on the accompanying documentation.
