Georgiabelle Clark Watercolor Modernist Landscape - An expressive watercolor painting on paper by Georgiabelle Clark, depicting a modernist winter landscape. The composition features a cluster of bare, calligraphic trees in the foreground rendered with fluid blue and violet tones. The mid-ground opens into a field of vibrant yellows and mauves, suggesting a dormant meadow, with a small white farm building and additional treelines visible in the distant background. The artist has used a combination of broad washes and sharp, dark outlines to define the structural elements of the trees. The work is signed Georgiabelle Clark in dark pigment in the lower right corner. It is housed in a wide off-white mat and set within a decorative gilt wood frame featuring an egg-and-dart inner molding and a ribbed outer profile. The verso is sealed with brown paper and fitted with a hanging wire. Frame Measures: 27.25 x 21.25 inches The artwork is in very good condition, with light toning to the paper consistent with age. The mat appears clean with no significant staining. The gilt wood frame is fair condition, displaying some cosmetic damage including chips, losses to the gesso and gilt finish, and abrasions along the bottom rail and corners.
