Gilt Metal & Enamel Miniature Settee & Footstool - A two-piece set of miniature furniture in the French Rococo Revival style, consisting of a settee and a matching footstool. The pieces are constructed from cast gilt metal featuring ornate C-scrolls, pierced gallery trim, and cabriole legs. Each piece is inset with hand-painted enamel panels. The settee backrest panel depicts a couple in 18th-century style dress seated in a landscape with a guitar and book, while the seat panel shows a couple lounging near a picnic basket. The reverse of the settee backrest is finished in a solid turquoise-blue enamel. The footstool features a panel depicting a winged cherub or putto reading a scroll in a wooded setting, with a similar turquoise-blue enamel finish on the underside. The base of the settee seat is cast with a textured floral and foliate pattern. No legible maker's marks, signatures, or metal fineness stamps are visible on the metal or enamel components. Settee Height: 3 1/8 inches Settee Width: 3 5/8 inches Footstool Height: 1 1/8 inches Footstool Width: 2 1/8 inches. The set is in very good vintage condition with all enamel panels intact. There are no visible chips, cracks, or repairs to the enamel surfaces. The gilt finish shows minor surface wear and small areas of oxidation consistent with age, particularly on the legs and underside. The turquoise enamel on the bottom of the footstool shows slight pooling inherent to the manufacturing process.
