Franciscan October Earthenware Serving Set - A group of glazed earthenware serving pieces in the October pattern by Franciscan, a division of Interpace. The set features hand-painted autumnal maple leaves in shades of golden yellow, burnt orange, and sage green with brown stems against a cream-colored ground. The collection includes a large serving bowl, a rectangular two-piece butter dish with a scalloped underplate and an acorn-shaped finial, and a pair of dome-topped salt and pepper shakers. The base of the serving bowl features a printed mark consisting of a stylized blocky F above the words INTERPACE and U.S.A., with the number 112 below. One shaker base has a handwritten mark reading 23, and the other features a circled B or 8. The interior of the butter dish lid is stamped with A5. The shakers retain their original red-orange rubber stoppers. Bowl Diameter: 8.5 inches Bowl Height: 2.5 inches Butter Dish Length: 7.5 inches Shaker Height: 3 inches. The set is in fair overall vintage condition. The butter dish lid and both shakers exhibit significant fine crazing throughout the glaze. The butter dish underplate shows areas of glaze wear and pitting in the center well, and the bowl interior has visible surface wear with some glaze pops. One shaker shows brown staining around the top holes. No visible chips or repairs are present.
