Sterling Silver Overlay Green Glass Scent Bottle - An antique emerald green glass scent bottle featuring an ornate Art Nouveau sterling silver overlay. The transparent glass vessel is encased in a foliate and scroll-work silver cage with a central circular cartouche. The bottle employs a dual-closure system comprising an internal ground-glass stopper in matching green glass with a flat, fan-shaped top, protected by a cylindrical, domed screw-on outer cap. The lower edge of the outer cap is stamped STERLING followed by a small, indistinct symbol. The ground-bottom of the glass stopper and the underside of the bottle base both bear hand-engraved matching inventory marks. The silver elements exhibit a heavy textured tarnish and oxidation consistent with late 19th or early 20th-century vanity items. Height: 1 5/8 inches. The scent bottle is in good antique condition. The glass body is intact, though the internal glass stopper has a small flea-bite chip to the corner of the fan-shaped handle. Significant surface oxidation, tarnish, and minor pitting are present across the outer silver cap and the silver overlay. The ground glass neck and stopper show minor surface wear from use. The screw-on cap and internal stopper remain functional.
