Gorham Sterling Footed & Bulbous Salt Cellars 82.8 Grams - A collection of 8 sterling open salt cellars by Gorham Manufacturing Company, comprising two distinct styles. The first group consists of six miniature footed salt cellars, each featuring a simple waisted pedestal base and a flared rim. The underside of these pieces is struck with the number 65, followed by the Gorham trademarks of a lion passant, an anchor, and a gothic letter G. Below this, the word STERLING is impressed above a capital letter B, serving as the date mark for 1869. The second group consists of two open salt cellars of a compressed globular form with slightly rolled rims. These bulbous cellars feature a gothic style P monogram engraved on the side and a gold wash vermeil finish to the interiors. The bases are impressed with the lion, anchor, and G trademark, alongside the word STERLING and the model number A4070. Height: 1 inch (footed) Height: 0.75 inches (bulbous) Weight: 82.8 Grams. The salt cellars are in good antique condition. The exterior surfaces exhibit heavy tarnish and oxidation throughout, with surface scratches and minor pitting consistent with age.
