Sterling Pierced Navette Bonbon Dish 50.64 Grams - A sterling navette-shaped bonbon or nut dish featuring intricate pierced openwork. The boat-shaped vessel is designed with a flared rim decorated with cast scrolls and stylized maiden masks at the terminals. The body features a complex pattern of geometric lattice and quatrefoil piercings. The underside of the solid base is stamped with the word STERLING in block letters. An additional registration mark reading Rd 409496 is struck into the upper interior rim near one terminal. The interior and exterior surfaces exhibit a yellowish hue, indicating either an aged gold wash or heavy surface oxidation. Length: 5 1/8 inches Width: 3 3/4 inches. The dish is in good antique condition. The interior and exterior of the solid base show significant surface scratches and scuffs from use. Small dark spots of tarnish are visible on the underside of the base. The pierced lattice work is intact with no visible breaks or repairs.
