1962 Post Cereal Mickey Mantle Baseball Card - A 1962 Post Cereal baseball card featuring New York Yankees outfielder Mickey Mantle, designated as card number 5. This item is a hand-cut issue that was originally part of a cereal box panel. The card front features a color photograph of Mantle in a batting pose set against a blue sky, accompanied by a biographical paragraph and a red oval logo containing the word Post in white script. A table at the bottom titled MAJOR LEAGUE BATTING RECORD provides statistics for Mantle’s 1961 season and his career totals to that point. The reverse of the card is composed of plain, unfinished brown cardboard, which is the standard backing for this cereal issue. The card is presented in a clear acrylic case secured with four screws. Width: 3.5 inches Height: 2.5 inches The card is in good vintage condition, exhibiting the typical characteristics of a hand-cut food issue. The edges are irregularly trimmed, with the cut line entering the white border on the top and left sides, while the bottom and right edges retain portions of the original blue border. All four corners show significant rounding and softening from handling. The front surface shows light toning and minor wear, and the cardboard reverse has a single small dark spot near the center. The acrylic holder is heavily scratched and bears a circular adhesive mark on the front exterior.
