Brass-Toned Metal Caryatid Hat Stand - This neoclassical-style millinery hat stand features a cast-metal figurine of a woman in classical draped attire, posed as a caryatid. The figure stands with one hand on her hip while the other arm is raised to support a capital atop her head. The figurine is mounted on a pedestal decorated with molded acanthus leaves. A fluted column rises from the figure and terminates in a pink satin-covered, domed cushion intended to support a hat. The entire assembly is set on a circular white-finished base with a red felt-covered underside. The metal components have a brass-toned finish. No maker's marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the exterior or underside of the piece. Height: 19.5 inches Base Diameter: 7 inches The stand is in good vintage condition. Visible surface wear is present on the brass-toned metallic finish, particularly along the raised edges and high points of the figurine and fluted column. The felt on the underside shows minor shelf wear but remains intact.
