Cooper & J. Bord Oil Still Life Paintings - A pair of 20th-century still life oil paintings on board, each housed in a traditional stepped frame with a black inner cove. The first painting illustrates a copper-toned pitcher accompanied by grapes and an apple, executed with thick impasto highlights on the metallic surface. The work is signed in the lower right corner with a painted cursive signature reading Cooper. The second painting features a blue vase and a burning candle in a metallic holder, with grapes resting on a dark foreground. This piece bears a painted signature in the lower right corner reading J. Bord. Both pieces are painted in a realist style with high contrast lighting against dark backgrounds. The first work is held in a light wood-toned frame, while the second is in a gilt-finished frame.
