Japan Ceramic Green Dog Cookie Jar - A vintage Japanese glazed earthenware cookie jar featuring an anthropomorphic green dog wearing a molded straw boater-style hat. The base is impressed with the mark JAPAN in block capitals. Cold-painted details are applied over the glaze for the facial features and the cheese. Height: 8 inches The cookie jar is in good vintage condition with the general character of wear consistent with age. Prominent crazing is present throughout the glaze, most notably on the hat lid and interior. The cold-painted details on the nose and cheese exhibit visible chipping and wear. The unglazed foot rim shows minor shelf wear and discoloration.
