Roberta Tewksbury Studio Enamel on Copper Square Dish - This studio enamel-on-copper square dish is the work of American artist Roberta Tewksbury. The interior features a stylized, symmetrical botanical composition with a central floral motif surrounded by scrolling linework and four pod-like elements at the corners. The design is executed using translucent amber and orange enamels within recessed cells, set against an opaque grayish-green ground. The metallic copper base is visible through the translucent layers, providing a golden luster. The reverse is finished with a textured black counter-enamel featuring white sgraffito-style swirls. A gold foil maker label is affixed to the center of the base, reading Individually Enameled Roberta Tewksbury The art of fusing glass to metal dates back nearly 2000 years.
