A Pair of Vitro Agate Company Cat's Eye Glass Marbles, Hybrid and Root Beer Patterns, circa 1950s-1960s - This lot features two machine-made glass marbles attributed to the Vitro Agate Company of Parkersburg, West Virginia. The first specimen is a hybrid cat's eye featuring a translucent clear base with internal ribbons of opaque white and peach glass. The second specimen is an amber-orange translucent marble containing darker, brownish-red internal swirls, a style frequently associated with the Vitro Root Beer or Horseshoe patterns. These marbles are constructed of solid glass and represent classic mid-century American toy manufacturing. Measurements: 0.628 inches and 0.622 inches in diameter. Both items are in good vintage condition, showing signs of age-appropriate wear. Surface inspection reveals minor pitting and faint scuffs consistent with previous use in play. No significant structural cracks or large chips are present.
