Grunow Model 701 Console Radio - This item is located on the second floor. A mid-1930s Grunow Model 701 superheterodyne console radio manufactured by the General Household Utilities Co. of Chicago. The wooden cabinet features an arched front panel with a patterned speaker grill and is supported by bun feet. The unit includes four central control knobs and an illuminated dial display bearing the Grunow script. Internally, the radio contains a Type No. 7A chassis and a Synchro-Dynamic Model 10A-2 speaker. Internal components include various vacuum tubes, including a Sylvania brand tube. A metal identification plate on the chassis provides technical specifications and the serial number 1466337.
