General Electric Model 400 Bakelite Tube Radio - A mid-20th century General Electric Model 400 superheterodyne tube radio. The unit is housed in a dark mahogany-colored Bakelite cabinet featuring a vertically-slotted speaker grille on the left side. The face is equipped with a rectangular tuning dial showing frequency markings from 55 to 160 and two cream-colored plastic control knobs. The rear fiberboard panel retains partial original paper labels identifying the model and technical specifications, including a 105-125V AC-DC power requirement, 26 watts, and a range of 540-1600 KC. The internal tube components listed include 50C5, 35W4, 12SQ7, 12BA6, and 12SA7. Powers on. Height: 6” The radio displays age-appropriate wear, including surface dust and minor abrasions to the Bakelite cabinet. The rear paper label exhibits significant loss and tearing.
