Vintage Hand Painted Woven Wood Basket Purse in the Caro-Nan Style - This mid-century rectangular basket bag is constructed from dark brown-stained woven wood splints and features a single arched handle. The hinged wooden lid is decorated with a botanical scene depicting yellow fruit on a leafy branch and is signed with the initials SAS in gold. A decorative yellow velvet trim circles the upper edge of the basket. The interior is lined with a yellow and orange floral print fabric and includes a small elasticated pocket. Width: 10 inches Height: 6.5 inches (excluding handle) Minor scuffing and finish loss on the handle. Small chips to the woven splints at the base corners. Light staining and wear to the interior fabric lining.
